Following a 4 month layoff since the closing of Collette's Vintage Mall, on December 31, 2022, we are proud to announce that we are open for business in our new location, which is among the Birch Run Premium Outlets. Our address is 12247 S Beyer Rd, Birch Run, Mi 48415. We are inside Flash Back Vintage, Antiques, and Art, LLC, which is next door to Old Navy on the south side and GNC on the north side of our building. The leather shop is in the southeast corner of the antiques store. Our building is in the last row before I-75. Here is a map of our new location.

All of our sewing machines are threaded, oiled, timed and already busy sewing patches on vests, making holsters and knife sheathes, and other work brought in by previous customers, or sent in by out of State customers, as well as walk-in customers who are discovering us for the first time while browsing the 30 odd antique booths set up throughout the building.

Right now, our hours are variable as we assess the foot traffic. We are currently open 6 or 7 days a week, from about 10am until 6pm. This will vary during the summertime, as both Dan and I may have other things to do. As some of you know, I am a professional working musician and a lot of my gigs are 60 to 75 miles away. I may not be in the shop if I have a distant gig with an early load in time. Check with us first if you need something done the same day (like patches sewn on a vest).

You can contact us through our website's contact page, or you can email us in advance to set up a good day and time to have your work done. We also have a messaging app on our R&W Leatherworks Facebook page. Unfortunately, we do not have a shop phone number at this time.

Dan and I look forward to doing business with both old and new clients. We have a fresh stock of hand made bridle leather belts that last a lifetime on the belt rack. There are good quality wallets in the display cases, and shoulder holster orders are happening on a fairly steady basis.

R&W Custom Leatherworks has a new location

Good News! We have secured a new place to do business. The new location will be in Birch Run, Michigan, among the factory outlet stores. The building's address is 12247 S Beyer Rd, Birch Run, Mi 48415. We are going to be inside Flash Back Vintage, Antiques, and Art, LLC, which is next door to Old Navy.

At the time of this post we are in the early process of getting the room ready to move our equipment in. There are electrical and plumbing tasks to be completed first. We are hoping to be able to open for business on May 1, 2023.

The building we are in is hosting a lot of vendors who sell antiques or works of art. Some of them used to be our neighbors in Collette's Vintage Mall, which closed on December 31, 2022. We are pumped at the opportunity to be part of this budding enterprise!. Our leather shop will be located behind the wall in the south-east side of the building. There will be signs on the doorway to the shop and on the walls around it.

R&W Has Closed In Collette's Vintage Mall

IMPORTANT NOTICE! PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING!

Sadly, our business in Collette's Vintage Mall, in Burton, Michigan, has come to a close, effective December 31, 2022. The building has been sold and we are searching for another place to setup our leather and sewing shop.

Until we find a new location we will each be working from our homes. Dan, who lives in Montrose, Michigan, will be making fitted holsters, knife/axe sheathes, pouches, cases and bridle leather belts. He also does hand carved logos on belts and buckles for biker clubs in the area. Wiz, who lives in Flint, Michigan, will continue sewing patches for biker clubs and independent riders and sewing name and number patches onto leather jackets and racing pants. He also does zipper replacements, hemming and repairs to jackets and purses, hat blocking/cleaning, boot stretching, and hand tooled belts and straps. You can contact us individually for custom leather work, sewing and repairs via our contact form. We will reply as as soon as possible.

Even though our brick and mortar location is closed, you are welcome to ship your leathers to us for sewing, repairs, or for use as a pattern for a custom leather job. We have had many people ship us their vests, jackets, chaps and old holsters for sewing, repairs or modifications. We will give you our addresses in private replies to inquiries sent via the contact form.

While our search continues and speaking personally as Wiz, I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all of our customers who supported our small business for the last 10 years. My sewing machines have literally put food on the table and paid my bills. I grew up as the Son of a tailor and never imagined that I would become one too. It's good honest work.

If you haven't already done so, please read our main web pages, at www.rw-leatherworks.com to familiarize yourself with all the different types of work we have been doing and hope to continue doing. We hope to see you again real soon!
